Moving Pros to a new problem space amidst strategy pivot

GCal was a highly requested integration by Pros but adoption was low after release. Learning how Pros manage their schedules was important to defining availability for different categories in the new booking model.


As the lead designer, I worked within the complex workflows to determine the scope and got buy in from my team by auditing the app, taking learnings from research, looking at general usage, and negotiating with teams on the growth side.


In less than a month, I leveraged existing systems to create a mechanism for feature awareness within multiple experiments. This resulted in higher awareness of the integration, impacting Thumbtack's ability to help Pros manage their availability in the booking-first world.
